As part of the ceremony, parents can speak their promises to each other as parents and their promises to baby.

For example:

To each other : I promise to be the best partner I can be in the raising of our child, to discuss and agree on parenting style, to support you when you need it, and to tell you when I need your help.  I promise to continue to pay attention to our relationship because (baby) will thrive when our relationship is healthy.

To baby: I promise to be the best (mother/father) I can be. I promise to provide you all you need physically , mentally, emotionally and spiritually to grow healthy, strong , self confident and smart. I promise to listen to you, to love you and guide you to the best of my ability.

Godparent promises:

_______________and ________________, (parents)  have chosen you to be (baby's) godparents. With this honor come great responsibilities and wonderful gifts.  Please repeat your promises to (Baby) after me now.

(Baby), I promise to always be there for you/ Know that you can always come to me/when you need a extra hug/ a place to share your problems and successes/words of encouragement/ or just to share some fun/ I promise to listen to you /to love you and guide you/ to the best of my ability.
