Expression of intent for the couple:

Now that you have heard the high calling of marriage, do you (  ) choose (  ) to be your honored and cherished (husband/ wife/spouse) to live with (him/her) and to love (him/her)  in the consecrated state of marriage?
-----------------------------------

______and _____-have you come here freely and without reservations to give yourselves to each other in marriage?
__________________________

( ) and ( )  do you come before this gathering of friends and family to proclaim your love and devotion for each other and your desire to join together in marriage as spouses/husband/wife?  If so, please respond with a resounding, “we do!”

---------------------------------

( ) and ( )  are you prepared to go forward with this wedding ceremony, taking each other as your spouse/husband/wife? Will you love and respect each other, be honest at all times and give what it takes for this marriage to be successful without losing yourself?
(Can also be modified to "do you" questions)
--------------------------------

Will you, (  )  have (  )  to be your wife/husband/spouse? Will you love her/him, comfort and keep her/him, and forsaking all other remain true to her/him for as long as you both shall live?
(Can also be modified to "do you" questions)
--------------------------------

Do you (   ) take (   )  to be your (wife/husband/spouse), to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do you part?

_________________________________

(      )  are you ready to enter into this marriage with (       ), taking him/her as your husband/wife, believing the love you share and your faith in each other will endure all things?

--------------------------------

(
)  do you choose (    ) to be your wife/husband/spouse?

Expression of Intent for the group

Before ( ) and ( )  recite their vows, do you, their family and friends, promise, from this day forward, to encourage them and love them, to give them your guidance, and to support them in being steadfast in the promises that they have made? (Answer: "We do")
-------------------------

Now in the spirit of joy and affirmation, I want to ask your families and friends a question. Do you, the families and friends of  ( ) and ( ) , give them your blessing and support this day, wishing them a wonderful life together? (Answer: "We do")

Expression of Intent for children:

I mentioned earlier in the ceremony that your children have always been a source of joy and laughter and have taught you many lessons about love and responsibility. Now I have a few questions as you formally affirm your new family.

-------------------------

( ) and ( )  will you love and respect each other, be honest at all times and give what it takes for this marriage to be successful without losing yourself? We will
(  )  will you willingly assume the role of advisor, guide, and friend for (child) preserving the unity of family love with all sincerity and affection? I will

(Child) will you accept and respect the love that  (new step-parent) has for you? I will

---------------------

At this time I would like (Child) to come forward. (  ) has told me that in addition to the love s/he has for (  ); s/he also has a great deal of love for (Child).

Now I have a few questions for the two of them.

(   ) will you promise to love (Child), to listen to him/her, to help him/her, and to have fun together? I do!

(Child) will you promise to accept (  ) 's love, to listen to him/her, to help him/her, and to have fun together? I do!

Please share the gifts you have for each other.
