The lasso ceremony, a Hispanic tradition, takes place after the vows and the ring exchange. The lasso can be placed by the officiant or by happily married friends of the couple. It is said that this draping by a happily married couple blesses the marriage with stability and longevity. The lasso is draped in the shaped of the infinity symbol ( figure 8)
You can use a rosary, rope, cord, ribbon or flower garland for your lasso.
My website provides resources to create a modern religious or non-religious (secular) version of the Lasso Ceremony. (see button below). If you have lasso ceremony wording you prefer to use, just let me know!
Sometimes the couple remains lassoed until the ceremony end-other times the lasso is removed right after the officiant finishes speaking (either the prayer for a religious version or a reading for a secular version)
